Is there a difference between listening and hearing?
I get accused sometimes of not listening. You know, like when your wife is talking to you while you are watching a football game or the news, then out of no where comes this statement, “ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!” I, for the most part, come back with this response, “ I was listening , but I didn’t hear what you said.” Most of the time this response seems to be, might I say, the wrong response.
Is there anyone out there also having this problem? I hope in my next post I can show that in the bible, there seemed to be examples of this issue.

I say something like that a lot also….oh wait…that’s because I really can’t hear. Does that count?

You seem to still get it backwards…..you hear alright, but in order to listen it goes much deeper. Hearing is one of the natural senses. Listening takes effort! That is where the conflict arises

What about the problem we have…thinking that you have spoken, when you have really just thought it. Anyone suffer from that? Buddy thinks he tells me stuff all the time…but he hasn’t. I have to hear it from someone else, or overhear him telling someone else.
